Biography
Amanda Browder
b. 1976; Missoula, MT (US)
Amanda received her MFA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Her works are primarily in the mediums of fiber, installation and sculptural performance. She has an affinity for abstraction and minimalism and uses forms similar to the reduced images in comic books. The ‘simplified’ forms in her work are often reconfigured to be idealized and sensorial.
Though this is Amanda’s first show in Asia, she has shown extensively in the US and Germany with recent exhibitions of her work including The Pinchot Spiral (Missoula Museum of the Arts, Missoula, Montana), POP! Contemporary Textiles Influenced by Popular Culture (Northern Illinois University Art Museum, DeKalb, Illinois), Dormant (Bonnie Fortune Outdoor Space, Chicago, Illinois).
